The Future Minds campaign has about the mental health crisis affecting children and young people and its impact on national productivity.

Responding to the report, Dr Lade Smith CBE, President of the 免费黑料网, said:

“The mental health crisis affecting children is bad for individuals, NHS services and the productivity of the nation, but solutions do exist. The sooner children and young people receive care, the less likely they are to become seriously unwell and need long-term treatment. However, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) are currently too under-resourced to meet increasing need, meaning many face unacceptably long waiting times for care.

“We know that multiple adverse childhood experiences can result in a higher risk of mental illness and around half of mental health conditions arise by the age of 14. It’s therefore clear that prevention is better than cure.

“By investing in CAMHS, we will support more children and young people to go on to lead their most fulfilling and healthy lives. Particularly through specialist provision for children who fall through the cracks, such as babies, young children under the age of five years, and young adults.

“We support Future Minds’ report on the mental health crisis affecting children and young people as well as its recommendations.

“The College looks forward to seeing Government plans to expand mental health support teams in schools to identify children with common mental health conditions, before they become seriously unwell. The College will work closely with Government to support the development of the 10 Year Health Plan for the NHS and improve access to mental health services in the community.”
