The International Congress is the College’s flagship event and attracts over 2500 delegates from over 50 countries worldwide. It is an ideal time to meet other likeminded individuals and immerse yourself in the breadth of resources and knowledge available through the College. As an International Congress the feeling of a global community united by the appreciation of the specialty stands at its core.
The 2025 Congress will be taking place at the , Wales between Monday 23 – Thursday 26 June 2025.
Wales is a country steeped in heritage, culture and distinctive traditions. It is known as the land of song and has some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes across the UK. There are several amazing places to visit and fascinating stories to discover, so it will make the perfect backdrop for our 2025 Congress.

Available ticket options
There are two ticket options for attending the Congress. You can either book to attend the whole Congress or individual days. Each ticket type includes different things so do make sure you read our
previous blog post on ticket types for a full breakdown.
Fees for the Congress vary depending on several factors. The earlier you book, the more money you will save. The early bird fee is our lowest fee available and is valid on all bookings made by Monday 31 March 2025, any payment received after this date will be charged the standard fee.
The fee you pay also depends on your current career status, providing you are a member of the College. Our reduced Congress registration fees are a benefit of membership, so if you’re not a member of the College already make sure you explore the options!
Becoming an international member – what is the right option for you?
If you are not based in the UK and not yet a member of the College, you may benefit from?
becoming an International Member. International members have access to a multitude of resources to continue their professional development.
Becoming a Pre-Membership Psychiatric Trainee (PMPT) is a great option for overseas resident doctors interested in building a global network of peers. It also provides access to the College's eLearning platforms, publications, reading lists, and the chance to join Special Interest Groups. Additionally, PMPT members enjoy a significant discount on registration for the upcoming Congress.
Our International Associate category is perfect for senior professionals who aren’t necessarily interested in the training pathway the MRCPsych provides, but would like to formally engage with the College, access eLearning, CPD and become formal members of the organisation. The International Associate grade is open to psychiatrists with five years’ experience and/or training in psychiatry who do not hold the MRCPsych, but who hold a specialist qualification in psychiatry and who reside outside the UK.?

Travel and accommodation
There are a number of hotels available in close proximity to the Congress venue and central Newport, with two options available on site.

The ICC Wales is conveniently accessible to a number of airports across the UK. The closest airports are Cardiff and Bristol which have regular flights across Europe and worldwide.?You can get from Cardiff Airport to the ICC Wales via train to Cardiff Central and then connecting on to Newport, the journey takes approximately one hour. Similarly, from Bristol Airport you will need to catch the A1 Bristol Flyer from the Airport to Bristol Temple Meads Station and then change to a connecting train through to Newport.
