Thursday workshops
Service User Network (SUN)
Service User Network (SUN) projects are expanding across the UK as effective interventions to help people with personality disorder and complex emotional needs to avert crisis and find healthier, more positive, ways of coping. Whilst not a formal therapy, SUN is based on principles drawn from therapeutic communities, strategical therapies like CBT, and the 'Appraisal Based Coping' model, and provides a structured and facilitated peer support group for the local community.
Psychotherapy in a warming world: reimagining our role
As the world gets hotter, more extreme, violent and more disruptive (and not just the weather) many of us are looking on in horror and trepidation and asking ourselves what we can bring as psychotherapists in this context. This workshop aims to give some space to honour our feelings, think about different perspectives on our role as psychotherapists and consider ways of engaging in meaningful ways. Led by the MPFWG for Climate Action.
Mind/body yoga
Yoga helps to:
- Build connections between the mind and body, increasing our capacity for present-awareness
- Staying with, rather than getting rid of or defending against difficult feelings
- Build greater tolerance for difficult emotional states and bodily sensations
- Learn how aspects of our early experiences and our characters are discernible in our bodily states and that these too can be changed

We look forward to welcoming you to another stimulating conference.
