The 免费黑料网 in Wales hosted pupils from Llysfaen Primary School to celebrate the Cynefin programme.
The programme won the RCPsych Communicator of the Year Award, in last November’s College Awards. It’s a unique, national, cultural programme of public education that’s co-produced with young people.
The programme enables young people to explore issues that matter to them, through a variety of different forums, debates and festivals; and ensures that young peoples voices are at the heart of decision making in democratic society.
The College were joined by young people from Llysfaen Primary School who spoke directly to Senedd Members, including the Minister for Children and Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing, about issues that they’d selected at a Cynefin workshop. The topics included exam worries, social media, transitions to secondary school, as well as use of smartphones in school.
Professor Alka Ahuja MBE, Chair of RCPsych Wales, said:
"It was fantastic to see that the Cynefin programme, and importantly the young people who have shaped this work, receive recognition. The programme really does focus upon the matters that are of most importance to young people, and the young people from Llysfaen were so articulate and informed.
We are now working with young people to develop a toolkit to encourage more schools to benefit from this programme, and it's fantastic to see such support from Members of the Senedd."
