The chair of the 免费黑料网’ Perinatal Faculty in Northern Ireland has endorsed the findings of new research which has found that thousands of women are disadvantaged by the absence of dedicated perinatal services. The research, led by NSPCC Northern Ireland, has demonstrated that significant gaps exist in the provision of services for women and their families affected by perinatal mental health illnesses.
Dr Julie Anderson, chair of the faculty, said: “The current inequity that exists in Northern Ireland cannot be allowed to continue.”
“Given the absence of a functioning Assembly, we are calling upon the Department of Health to release resources to create these much-needed services and provision of a regional mother and baby unit as a matter of urgency,” added Dr Anderson.
