Event Information
Overview
The Medical Student Psychotherapy Schemes Working Group (MSPSWG) are pleased to announce their upcoming symposium Medical Student Psychotherapy and Balint Groups: Promoting Wellbeing and Reflection in our Future Doctors.
This online event will consider best practice in the provision of reflective practice opportunities for medical students.
The symposium will cover the following areas:
- the importance of reflective practice for clinicians to support well-being and good medical practice
- an overview of Balint groups around the UK and internationally
- first-hand experiences and reflections from medical students and foundation doctors
- linking Balint to the Medical Licensing Assessment outcomes
There will be a wide range of speakers presenting on these topics and ample opportunity for discussion and reflection. Please see below for a draft programme.
While the event is aimed primarily at educators, medical students and foundation doctors interested in medical education are also welcome to attend.

- Student Experiences of Medical Student Psychotherapy Schemes

This event will be recorded and the recording made available within two weeks to those who have registered.
We would encourage those who register to attend on the day of the event, should they wish to ask questions to our speakers.
All recordings are sent out to delegates via email to the email address used at the time of registering. If you are unsure whether your email address is up to date, please update this via your membership account.
The recording will be available to registered delegates for up to two months after the event date.
